💡 Performance Advice for Electrical Users

The "Catalog" Bottleneck:

AutoCAD Electrical constantly looks up parts (relays, breakers, terminals) in a massive database.

Recommendation: Ensure the AeData folder and the Catalog Database reside on a fast NVMe SSD. If this is stored on a slow network drive, the software will freeze every time you insert a component.

Display Setup:

Unlike standard drafting, Electrical design involves checking Bills of Materials (BOM) and schematic lists.

Recommendation: Dual Monitors are standard for Electrical engineers (one for the schematic, one for the database/catalog window).

Mac Users:

Since there is no Mac version, you cannot run native AutoCAD Electrical on macOS.

Workaround: Parallels Desktop works reasonably well for AutoCAD Electrical because 2D schematics are not GPU-heavy. However, ensure the Windows VM has at least 16GB of RAM allocated.

AutoCAD Core:

Remember, this includes all features of standard AutoCAD. If you also do 3D panel layouts, the GPU requirement becomes more important (aim for the Recommended 8GB VRAM).
