💡 Performance & Mac Advice
Mac Users (Not Supported):
Native: There is no native version of FeatureCAM for macOS.
Virtualization: You can run FeatureCAM on a Mac using Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion (running Windows 11). However, CAM simulation relies on OpenGL, which can sometimes be buggy in virtual environments.
Boot Camp: On older Intel Macs, Boot Camp is the best option. On M1/M2/M3 Macs, Parallels is your only choice, but verify that your CNC machine drivers (if connecting directly via RS232/USB) are compatible with Windows on ARM.
PartMaker Users:
If you use the PartMaker component (included in Ultimate) for Swiss Lathes, the interface is older and less graphically demanding, but it still relies heavily on single-core CPU speed for synchronization calculations.
Simulation Performance:
If your simulation (3D Machine View) is lagging, it is usually due to the GPU. Ensure you are using an NVIDIA card and have the latest "Production Branch" drivers installed. Avoid integrated Intel graphics.
